Review: Overland Incheon International Airport for FS2004 and FSX
Overland is a well-known developer of airport sceneries for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Their latest release is Incheon International Airport (RKSI), the main gateway to South Korea and one of the busiest airports in Asia. In this review, we will take a look at how Overland has recreated this modern and impressive airport for FS2004 and FSX.

Installation and Configuration
The installation process is straightforward and easy. You just need to run the installer and enter your serial number. The installer will automatically detect your FS2004 or FSX folder and install the scenery accordingly. You can also choose to install static aircraft or not. The scenery comes with a configuration tool that allows you to adjust some options such as jetways, ground vehicles, dynamic lighting, and seasonal textures. The configuration tool is accessible from the start menu or the scenery folder.
The Scenery
Incheon International Airport is located on an artificial island west of Seoul. It has two parallel runways (15/33L and 15/33R), a third runway (16/34) under construction, and a large terminal complex that can handle over 50 million passengers per year. The airport also features a golf course, a spa, a casino, a museum, and a cultural center.
Overland has done a great job in modeling the airport with high-resolution textures, accurate buildings, detailed jetways, realistic ground markings, and custom night lighting. The scenery also includes some landmarks around the airport such as the Incheon Bridge, the Lotte Tower, and the Songdo International Business District. The scenery is compatible with AES (Airport Enhancement Services) for FS2004 and SODE (SimObject Display Engine) for FSX, which add animated jetways, marshals, and ground services.
The performance of the scenery is very good considering the size and complexity of the airport. I tested it on both FS2004 and FSX with medium to high settings and did not experience any significant frame rate drops or stutters. The scenery blends well with the default terrain and mesh, but it can also be enhanced with third-party add-ons such as FTX Global or Ultimate Terrain X.
The Flight
To test the scenery, I decided to fly a short flight from Incheon to Gimpo (RKSS), the other major airport in Seoul. I used the PMDG 737-800 NGX for FSX and the iFly 737-800 NG for FS2004. Both aircraft are highly detailed and realistic add-ons that simulate the Boeing 737 Next Generation series.
I started at gate 122 in Terminal 1, where I requested pushback and startup from AES or SODE. After receiving clearance from ATC, I taxied to runway 15R following the signs and ground markings. The taxiway layout is accurate and easy to follow. I noticed some ground vehicles moving around the airport, adding some life and realism to the scenery.

After lining up on the runway, I applied full thrust and took off into the clear sky. I climbed to 10,000 feet and turned right towards Gimpo. The view from the cockpit was amazing as I could see the whole airport below me, as well as the city skyline and the surrounding mountains. The scenery looked even better with some cloud shadows and dynamic lighting effects.
I flew over the Incheon Bridge and followed the Han River towards Gimpo. I contacted ATC again and requested an ILS approach to runway 32L. I descended to 3,000 feet and intercepted the localizer and glideslope. I reduced my speed and extended my flaps and landing gear. I could see Gimpo airport ahead of me, as well as some traffic on final.
I touched down smoothly on runway 32L and applied reverse thrust and brakes. I exited the runway via taxiway B1 and taxied to gate 14 in Terminal 1. I shut down my engines and requested deboarding from AES or SODE. I enjoyed this short but scenic flight between two of Korea's busiest airports.
Conclusion
Overland Incheon International Airport is a high-quality scenery that captures the essence of this modern and impressive airport. It offers a great level of detail, realism, performance, and compatibility for
